Finding True Freedom

“And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Genesis 2:16

“Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 8:2

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

2 Corinthians 3:17

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.”

Galatians 5:13

We need to know Jesus and the power of the cross to set us free

John 8:32

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Recognize and repent of any area of your life that you are holding onto.

“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 6:11

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,…

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release from darkness for the prisoners, …

to bestow on them a crown of beauty

instead of ashes,

the oil of joy

instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,

a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor.”

Isaiah 61

Receive the power of the Holy Spirit

Retell – recount and rehearse what God has done for you.

Stand firm and walk in freedom.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Galatians 5:1

“So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed."
